Seb is a qualified coach and expert in helping professionals develop better, longer lasting and profitable relationships with clients, prospects and referrers. He has coached and trained over 150 individuals in many different organisations to help them build their business with existing and new clients, and has delivered a tangible improvement in their performance across a variety of areas, including winning more work, client management and in “asking the right questions”. He has a background in both industry and professional services through 3i, Arthur Andersen, BAT and Eversheds and has worked for a number of years overseas. More recently, Seb has spoken at conferences in the UK and overseas at coaching conferences.
Susanne is our expert in the field of business relationship management and improvement. She has both designed and delivered telephone and face to face interview programmes, working with clients in the UK and overseas. Her sector experience spans telecoms, manufacturing and professional services. Central to many programmes is the conducting of interviews with senior level managers and key operational decision makers, on behalf of clients. This requires an ability to grasp quickly and accurately the business essentials of both businesses, and to undertake professional, searching and commercially-focussed interviews that are of value to both organisations.
Jayne has been in the communication business for 25 years. Words/language/performance are in her DNA, whether she’s helping a lawyer improve her pitching skills; preparing an accountant for a media interview; teaching a CEO how to engage audiences or training a group of young professionals to communicate with ‘presence’.
Jayne’s unique range of experience includes: live voice-over announcing on BBC TV; business reporting on BBC World; fronting corporate programmes for blue-chip companies; facilitating live events. Her BBC TV series on Mexico was nominated for a BAFTA; voice-over credits include Sony and Channel 4, and she has written for Condé Nast Traveller and Good Housekeeping.
She has more recently worked with Olympic superstars, which prompted her to confront and dispel the myths around confidence in communications – she has consequently developed a unique approach to empowering those who want to be skilful, effective and memorable speakers.
An experienced, accredited executive coach, Joy has coached CEOs, Chairs, Directors, Partners and other executives in sectors ranging from legal and financial services, to transport, logistics, technology, NHS, Home Office, Treasury, NGOs and start-ups. Joy brings a combination of previous business, legal and Board experience to coach new and established leaders to find their own distinctive leadership style. This is in the belief that we can all learn effective leadership practice from other industries. Joy is also an author and a speaker nationally and internationally at conferences on coaching and has co-authored published academic research on how coaching individual leaders also benefits the performance of their teams. In recent years, she has also been at the forefront of working collaboratively to shape the coaching industry in the UK, as a former Director and President of the UK Board of the International Coach Federation (ICF), the largest global professional body for coaches. She has represented the ICF on industry and government committees to promote standards and clarity in coaching.
Gary has been a partner in high-ranking legal practices for over 20 years, 13 of which were spent on their Boards. At Capsticks – where Gary spent the last 10 years – the firm innovated consistently over that period in order to meet the challenges of working for the NHS, against the backdrop of squeezed funds, greater competition and reducing legal budgets. This involved geographical expansion, commoditising routine work, diversifying into new markets and acquiring fresh skills. Gary was also responsible setting up and running their Birmingham office, and set up Capsticks Business Solutions, comprising HR, Governance and other consultancy services to complement the core legal business. Through all his experience, Gary has been interested in what makes lawyers tick and how to get the best out of highly intelligent, self-sufficient and opinionated individuals. Gary has an MBA from Imperial College Management School, where he was awarded the Ford Prize in Management in 1993.
